This intensive training program teaches the fundamentals of fire ground tactics to new members/volunteers.

The challenge coin below was awarded to the first graduating class, honoring Ray's incredible life and career.

Ray served over 50 years in the fire service in NC with 36 years at Louisburg Fire. He served as a Lead Instructor for the Franklin County Firefighters Essential School for over 25 years.

Ray was instrumental in scheduling classes, selecting instructors, and overseeing this program from start to finish.

Many considered Capt Patterson the "commandant" of this school.

It is an honor to continue to celebrate Ray's life, career, and impact he made on the Fire Service in Franklin County.
